Bühlmann & Wagner — Das Alte Rom — Panoramic Photogravure Album, c.1890–1892

Ancient Rome reconstructed as a continuous architectural spectacle. Bühlmann and Wagner’s panorama follows the triumphal procession of Constantine through a city imagined at its imperial height, translating historical reconstruction into theatrical space.
