RARE Railroad Engineering Archive 1923 GE Train Tests W&LE Original Files

Offered is an original railroad engineering archive assembled from two historically significant groups of documents spanning approximately 1923–1948.

The first group is an original General Electric Erie Works engineering archive documenting the famous High Speed Locomotive Tests held December 4–5, 1923, including original engineering photographs, fold-out technical drawings, electrical diagrams, performance data, and exhibition material relating to advanced electric locomotives built for the Paris–Orléans Railway and the Mexican Railway.

The second group is a complete Wheeling & Lake Erie Railway engineering project file documenting the design, approval, installation, and accounting for automatic highway crossing warning protection at Eastport Road, Scio, Ohio. The archive includes original correspondence, engineering memoranda, accounting records, routing slips, annotated circuit plans, and large-format fold-out signal drawings issued through the Office of the Signal Engineer and associated engineering departments.
